After striking gold with this Glenlossie from The Maltman, the search for more sherried Glenlossies continues.

1.7 (Burnt umber)

Nose

Mainly fresh fruits, with just small hints towards sherry territory. Had this been lighter (or done blind as in eyes closed), I think the sherry would be hard to find on the nose. Slightly floral with some oranges, lemon and marmalade. Overall a very soft and round nose.

Palate

Immediately drier than the nose suggests. Light mouthfeel, spicy. A bit of salt, some cooked fruits and a little licorice.

Finish

The finish starts with a burst of black winegums, and then fades out rather quickly. The dryness is constant through the palate and finish.

It doesn't really come through as much as I'd like. A little thin, a bit too spicy and without much body to back all that up. Lacks some meat and depth. Nothing wrong with it, it's perfectly good and tasty, but nothing I'd look for again.
