Tomatin Cadenhead's Authentic Collection 2008 10y

Review #5 Cadenhead's Tomatin 10

Catching up on a few bottles - I got this one at Cadenhead's London in Feb 2019.

Very light; dry straw colored.

Nose

The nose is hot; but that's likely due to it being bottled cask strength.

Palate

The flavor is very nice; amazingly smooth. On a blind tasting, I would have thought it was a 15 year.

Finish

The finish is probably where it shows its youth the most; it's a bit hot, but there are nice grain notes that ring through. It chills out a bit with some water.

Cadenhead's says that they sell cask-strength so that the drinkers can decide how much water to add; I would suggest this with water. All that said, it's still way smoother than expected for a 10-year, and I'll be sad to see it go!
