Glenmorangie Quarter Century 25y

Review #36

This is an older review that I saved but never published. Done from a sample.

Nose

Apples and toffee, typical Glenmorangie nose. Similar to the 10, perhaps slightly creamier.

Palate

Lots of fruits, mostly dark. Quite thick.

Finish

Dark fruits (Sherry-ish) , licorice. There's a slight bitterness. Peaches. Medium length.

Tasty, sure, but a bit disappointing. Not my favorite! Can't say exactly why, no off-notes or anything, but wasn't a great fan. Gorgeous bottle and hefty price tag, but the whisky lacks the complexity or the depth to justify the nice presentation and hype. The age doesn't really come through very well either, in my opinion. A swing, a mediocre hit and a meh follow-up.
